KILLEARN COMMUNITY ACTION PLAN

In 2003 we produced a Community Action Plan with the professional assistance of officers from the newly formed Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.

The Community Action Plan attempts to formulate a vision for the future of the village over the next ten years and identify the main issues that need to be addressed over that period under the broad headings of economic development, the environment, local services, housing, transport and youth. It will then prioritise actions to be taken to address the identified needs.

The steering committee has now determined the views and needs of the community by means of a survey in the form of an all-village questionnaire, in-depth interviews, consultation with local businesses and other agencies, a youth survey, and two public consultations.

The 2015 Community Action Plan was published in August and distributed free to every household in the Killearn Area.

If you did not receive the plan, you may download it by clicking here or use our form to request a copy.

The plan is just the start, and we are actively seeking people who are willing to serve on an implementation committee which will suggest ways in which the plan can actually make a difference to the community. Could you be that person? If so, we would like to hear from you. Tell us your interests and how you are willing to help using our form.

We would like to thank everyone who filled in our survey, whether on-line or by form. The results are very informative and provided the basis for the final Action Plan. We have prepared a very full report detailing the results of the survey in what we hope is a very understandable form. This was distributed to every house in the village in March. You can also read or download the report on line by clicking here.
